"What I Did For Love" choral vs soloI know that Diana sings the main part of "What I Did For Love" in the show, and that Cassie does in the movie, but my theatre group recently sang this as an entirely choral number. I actually liked it more as a choral piece and was wondering about other people's takes on it.
(If you haven't heard it/sang it, the lyrics are a bit changed around and the high sopranos [me!] do some work on "Gone...gone...gone...")

I really really really love this song and i think it sounds amazing solo, but ive never heard it as a choral piece. Id say stick to solo but bring the rest of the cast in, in the appropriate places (for example gone gone gone!) but i dunno how it sounds choral! Its good to play around with it find out what works and what doesnt.

This song is so powerful, and is, in my experience, responded to positively in choral or solo settings, as long as the soloist has a powerful voice, or the melody is emotional and lovely, as it should be.

we also did a choral bit with a broadway medley-- i think one was also in there.
i think it sounded really cool...we had both sopranos and altos on that lead part, doing some harmony action
