It sounds...fine. I'll wait until I hear the whole thing to judge, though.

i'm very excited about this

Same here. It's different that Lansbury (obviously), but not as bad as most claim. |

The quality doesn't sound too high. Hopefully that's just the sample clips. |

The order is screwey. Tried to get A Little Priest, got Ballad of Sweeney. I still don't care for Patti, but she's decent.
EDIT: I was confused, it is Wait that comes up as opposed to Priest. Either way. I've discovered: I quite like "Poor Thing", or at least the bit they play. |

Tried to get "A Little Priest" and got "Wait" instead. I want to hear "A Little Priest", though. That is how I will judge Patti. EDIT: http://www.broadway.com//gen/pop_video.aspx?ci=520878 Fast forward about halfway through this and you can see a clip of "A Little Priest". |

Judge Patti by seeing her live. I haven't really heard people claiming the new interpretation of the score is bad. So no one should even judge it based on 30 second clips.
The quality of clips from the interent are never good quality, ofcourse the quality of the CD will be great and crystal clear (which is ususal for Nonesuch.) |

Sounds very interesting. But I like it. The "smaller score" makes it creepier.

I did. I saw her the very first night she played Lovett. Not impressed AT ALL!! |

Oh I know you saw her Ciaron. So you absolutely have the right to say you weren't impressed. But it seemed WHAT_THE_HECK was going to judge her based on clips. |

I actually like the way it sounds with a very small orchestra. It sort of puts more focus on the actors, and their voices, rather than the music in the background.

I like this Johanna a lot.
Subsequently, this Judge's Johanna is REALLY creepy. I think it's because of how the music is sort of happy. |

I was just gonna comment on that, actually. I like her too. |

Something is screwy with my iTunes and WMP, but as soon as it's done being stupid I'll let you know my thoughts.

Actually, I plan on seeing the show this summer. |

I like how the Johanna goes "Anthony?!" after learning his name.

Amazon.com has loaded clips for all the songs, and they're much better quality, and they're in the right order.
Cliptastic! |

Yay. Thank you, Kad. I kinda like By the Sea there.

OKAY, WHATEVER YOU SAY. lol, and yes the quality of the amazon clips are much better. They thankfully don't sound as synthesized as they did on BN.com. I honestly can't wait any longer for this cast recording. |

some songs sound nice... others I would like to hear more to come up with a valid opinion before I open my mouth. |

Heh, reminds me of Christine's attitude in Terry Pratchett's Maskerade novel. If you know of what I speak, I love you. |

I jus got the cd last night.
The interpretation is ok -- just not the full orchestration that we are used to. I think the talent is suberp (no angela lansbury -- but who is?) I think it does do the score justice. (I still prefer angela lansubry's version better -- my own opinion) |

Um. Is City on Fire included under some other song name or something? Cuz I'm mildly freaking out, it's one of my favorites... |
