"No Day But Today" documentary

I watched it last night for the first time, all the way through. I have a totally newfound respect for Larson and the whole story of RENT. It was amazing how he came from a good middle-class family, went to college on a full scholarship, then went right into NYC as a starving artist and spent years working at a diner while he wrote music whenever he wasn't working. I wasn't one of those "OMFG RENT IS SO COOL!" kind-of-people, I've always thought of RENT as an amazing show with deep meanings but, all I can say is, "wow".

I thought it was cool how the first two rows to see RENT were sold at $20 so that people with less money could still see the show.

I watched that documentary just a few days ago and I useally don't like documentaries but....I got sooo into it!!! actuallly...I think i'm gonna go watch it again!!! o, and I love the fact that they sold tickets for only $20!! but it's sooo sad how he died...i cried....but it just made RENT more amazing!!!

My aunt cried harder during the documentary than she did watching the movie.... Think

Literally, after seeing it, Jonathon became my new hero. I felt so...idk, priveliged to be seeing his final masterpiece. I'm just dissapointed he didn't get a chance to make more Like rent.

I did recently come across the ENTIRE soundtrack to Tick, Tick, BOOM! his original show (which is where the quote in my sig. comes from). I just hope that one day, I'll be half as good, if not as good of a writer of modern Musicals as that man was...

Thank you Jonathon Larson. Applause

If you were even a quarter of what Larson was, you would have to be pretty fu**ing amazing! Smile

Amen to that brother

About a week before it was released, we got in our shipment of Rent DVD rentals in at work and I immediately ran home after shift, locked myself in my room, turned off all the lights, turned the documentary on and cried like a baby. Even already knowing a good bit of the back story from the Rent Bible, it was so different actually seeing his family and friends telling it.

Cast recording.

And if you like Jonathan Larson that much, you should at least be able to spell his name correctly.

Look here - people make spelling mistakes, so what.

Thank you...and I'm sorry. I didn't know there wasn't an H in Jonathon. That's how everyone else spells it so I'm not the only one at fault

And then defend them stupidly.

It's sort of a micro-version of this: http://www.journalfen.net/community/otf_wank/446965.html (Which I recommend to everyone regardless of how they feel about/have participated in this thread.)

No problem. Cool It annoys me so so much, when people feel the need to be agressive like one particular poster. (Not mentioning any names) Does a spelling mistake signal, the end of the world? Um, let me pause and gather my thoughts together.... No.

Guys, accept the correction and move on. Jeez. You know what's more annoying than being corrected? Watching people argue about for almost an entire page. If TVAW or anyone else doesn't tell you about a mistake you've made, then you're not gonna know about it and will make it again and again until someone does tell you. Anyway, that is all I have to say about the subject because I don't want to add another page of correction debate to this topic.

Sorry DramaRobin, just I get fired up sometimes! Is it just me, who gets all teary at the finale of RENT? I find it so sad, that Larson died tragically before his show opened. Such a shame.
renthead29

Et moi, madamoiselle. I do too.
!ILOVERENT!

Yeah I watched it like the next day after I rented the movie. It almost made me cry when I learned of his death on the dress rehearsal
