"My Favorite Things" in the stage showI read somewhere that in the stage show, MFT is sung by the Reverend Mother. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the context it was used for the stage show and why it was changed so drastically for the 1965 movie.

its a duet between Maria and Reverend mother ..in the scene where she is called into her office.

In the movie, Maria sings MFT instead of "Lonely Goatherd" to comfort the kids during the thunderstorm. LG in turn was moved to the puppet show for the Baroness and Max.

Thats very... absurd.
Even if it wasn't different in the movie, it still seems odd that the reverend mother and maria sing it together...?
