*Audition Song Help*

I am auditioning for a community theatre production of Cabaret done by 9th-12th graders at a really great theatre I just did Les Mis at.

I need to have two songs prepared...an uptempo and a ballad.
What are some good songs to prepare for a Cabaret audition?

Thanks for the help! Smile

Dear girlofgrace_37,

Which role(s) do you want to try out for? If you're trying out for the role of Sally, you'll probably want to have a belty piece ready, just so that you can prove that you'll be able to really sell songs like "Cabaret."

Thanks in advance for your reply.

I would really enjoy the part of Sally Bowles but I know that this theatre is very political in the sense that the girls whose fathers are very involved and have been performing there since they were like 10 will have much better chances. However...I still think I might have somewhat of a shot.
So yeah, Sally is a good possibility, and if not, anything else I can get!

But I agree with the belty song, do you have any ideas of songs? Like I said, I need a ballad and an uptempo.

Any tips or idea would be absolutly wonderful!! Thanks for the help! Smile

For your uptempo, the title song from Anything Goes would work very well. "Class" from Chicago may be a good ballad.
